executive coaching and coaching consultancy

Felicitas (meaning “fruitful, blessed, happy, lucky”) is the goddess and personification of good luck and success.   She had her own temple in Rome and was frequently portrayed on coins as a symbol of the wealth and prosperity of the Roman Empire.

When I set up Felicitas in 2007, having previously run my coaching practice for some years as a sole practitioner, my goal was to make the company worthy of its name through facilitating and accelerating the professional development of senior and high potential people.  I have now logged over 6,000 one-to-one coaching hours and hardly a week goes by when a client does not reinforce my belief in human potential and my awe of human achievement.

Some clients aspire to (or are already achieving) “wealth and prosperity” in the literal sense, for example in law firms, global quoted companies, fintech or fast growing PE backed enterprises.   For other clients their benchmark of prosperity is a more figurative one, achieved by fulfilling their potential as key leaders, influencers and deliverers in public service, journalism, politics or the not-for-profit sector.

Most of my coaching assignments are one-to-one partnerships and virtually all are employer sponsored.  Clients range from senior people already at or near board level, or who have already reached the top of their profession, to high potential rising talent.   My “hi-po” clients are often delegates on formal development programmes and our work is loosely aligned with the programme curriculum.

The interdependent relationship between the business context and the individual coachee always sits at the forefront of my approach.     I therefore wear two hats – as a professional development coach/mentor and as a management consultant.

Over the years I have worked with most types of coaching scenario, often linked to some form of significant change or transition.   For example a strategically important promotion, a key external appointment, moving on elsewhere or supporting leaders through major change programmes.  I am also often asked to work with valued high performers who want to tackle a particular development issue that would otherwise prove career limiting.

I also work with teams and groups and am an experienced facilitator of team “offsite” events.

Alongside my coaching practice I also provide consultancy services on all aspects of the design and delivery of organisational coaching.    Working alongside learning and development teams I advise on everything from determining the most appropriate mix for the coaching offer (e.g. external/internal coaches; line manager coaching, team coaching, mentoring) to designing the right operational support systems.

I can also help with the selection and management of external coaching panels   Drawing upon my previous career in executive recruitment (and my own membership of such panels) I help organisations to assemble external coaching faculties that have very clear line of sight to the business context; at the same time paying uncompromising attention to core coaching skills, professional accreditation, "fit" and credibility.
